The Canadian Gerontological Nursing Association (CGNA) is proud to offer our members the following research grant and scholarship opportunities. Members are eligible to apply for research grants or scholarships if they have sustained membership in CGNA for a minimum of two consecutive years including the year of application.
The 2023 application period for grants and scholarship will close Friday, January 20, 2023. Applications must be time stamped before 11:59 pm. Applications must be complete at the time of submission in order to be eligible for review.
CGNA offers research grants each year in support of small research projects examining an area of gerontological nursing practice up to $2500.
The research grant program is designed to support pilot studies which will lead to grant applications to larger funding agencies, or small studies focused on older adults and gerontological nursing for which other funding sources are limited. Full guidelines have been posted to provide nurses with an outline of what level of details is expected for research grant applications.
CGNA offers scholarships each year to support students enrolled in a nursing program focused on gerontological nursing.
The Ann C. Beckingham Scholarship is provided to support outstanding Registered Nurses undertaking further education in a graduate degree program, preferably in the field of gerontological nursing, including Nurse Practitioner programs that focus on the care of older adults.
*Apply Now! Note this is final year this award will be offered in its current form. We look forward to sharing our vision for this award with members in 2023!
The Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding Registered Nurse, Licensed or Registered Practical Nurse, or Registered Psychiatric Nurse who is undertaking further education in a post-basic undergraduate nursing degree program with a gerontological nursing focus. If you know of CGNA members who are already Nurses (RN, LPN/RNA or RPN) who are completing undergraduate nursing education, please encourage them to apply for a Memorial Scholarship.
